Melaka Town Trail: Jonker Walk

almost 2 years din't practice watercolour, but because my basic of watercolour is quite strong, so still can handle it ^^

metal, fire, water,wood,earth: 5 elements that used in roof ridge design
1. Entanglement
the complicated cable connection makes people wonder how is all these function
2. Calligraphy
the deatil carving and chinese character of the oldest functioning temple in Melaka, "Cheng Hoon Teng"
3. Deflection
the T junction gives an expectation that the place is the end of the street but yet a deflection give an unseen end of the street and the building forces to a coherent part.
4. Publicity
the advertisement give life to the street and also vitality of the medium in the urban scene.
5. Change 0f Levels
roof line of Jonker Walk is not a straight line. The combination of new and old building create the levels of roof change in a same row of shop lots.
6. Incident
"Guan Yin Tang" located between a row of shop lots give a big impact as it entraps the eyes of the visitors.
7. Contrast
a chinese temple "Fu Tek Chi" is located beside the Mausoleum of Hang Kasturi.
8. Nodes
a meeting place of vehicles and people between Jalan Hang Jebat.
9. Viscosity
the mixture of static possession (the hawkers) and possession in movement (visitors) formed by the famous night market of Jonker Walk during every weekends.
10. Recession
Rhythm of recession is created by the arrangement of shop houses which is not aligned and the change of veranda is different according to shops .
